Nice to meet you. I’m Cheyenne.

Let's start with a few truths. I'm relentlessly curious, and happen love everything on the planet except Swiss cheese. I'm a tomboy who adores polka dots, a Palo Alto native drawn to the past as much as the future, and an outdoors-loving bookworm who’s most at home under a cozy blanket with a good book.

I've been a writer since the age of nine when I decided to spend my summer vacation penning The Complete History of the United States. I got stuck at Sir Francis Drake, but the hook was set.

Since then, I've lived an eclectic life. I was a marketing executive for decades, then spent three years sailing in Mexico. It's not your average path to novelist, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Lest I accidentally create an impression that is far too generous, allow me to offer a few other truths: I was the shyest kid in third grade. I have ADHD and am a wuss about cold weather. If the DMV tested sense of direction, I'd be banned from driving. And I have a procrastination problem that requires every mental trick I know to overcome—though pretty much every day I do.

I could go on, but you get the point. I'm as human a being as they come.

The Prisoner’s Apprentice is my first novel. As it happens, I am also the great-great-grand-niece of Edward Rulloff.

Consider yourself warned.
